Augmented reality-Simplified
Have you ever wondered about something that can replace the Real world with a stimulated world-this can be done through the technology of the so called Augmented Reality
Augmented reality is a live(Direct or Indirect) view of the real world environment whose elements are augmented(made larger greater in size or value) using computer generated sensory input like sound, video, graphics,GPS etc...
To give you a glimpse of the AR world ,this is how an advanced version of AR facilitates you-
In the morning you read the newspaper where the news report reports a picture of a press conference-you have an option to play the press conference video. This is done through the projector mounted on your AR device. You are leaving to office and you just show the hand gesture to project out a wrist watch to know the time.On your way you find a beautiful rainbow and you just show a photo frame gesture and the AR device takes a snap and so on...All this magic happens with Augmented Reality.
AR uses two different approaches to make a fusion of real life facts and virtual reality

- Marker based response
- Location based response
Markers are patterns, recognized by softwares which imposes a digital mage on the same spot of the screen where it has detected the known marker. eg-barcodes,QR images
Location based response uses the positioning system of a device(GPS,GLONASS) in order to match a certain location with the need to display info pertaining to that particular location.
Some of the popular AR equipped devices include the Google Goggles,Microsoft Hololens,Kinect
